Longsight District Office

The brief
The brief was to deliver a flexible workspace for 150 staff within the refurbished district centre which offers children and adult services.

The solution
Egan Reid’s design focused on a hot desking format, optimising the use of space and offering a more cost-effective alternative to traditional office layouts. All desk space is shared and each member of staff has been provided with a storage ‘hot box’, a portable storage box which accommodates files, notebook PCs and stationery, hangs from the desktop screens to free up valuable desk space and fits into a filing drawer when not in use.

The space also features open and private meeting areas, lockers and personal storage for files and ‘hot boxes’, and a Bisley InnerSpace™ mobile storage system providing a high density filing & archiving solution whilst freeing up valuable floor space.

All finishes were chosen to match Manchester City Council’s new corporate identity.
